A Famille Rose Chinese porcelain mandarin milk jug
a High quality famille rose mandarin milk jug, beautifull and finely painted with a romantic couple watched by an older gentlemen. The decoration is probably based on a scene with the 2 lovers Yingying and Zhang Sheng taken from an old Chinese novel called the romance of the west chamber, written by Wang Shifu in the Yuan dynasty ca. 1250-1300.
Size: 10,5 cm in height and ca. 9 cm wide (from belly to outline of the ear).
Condition: Very good condition, only a small production fault at the rim. Some normal age related “on the glaze” loss. No chips, hairline or any restorations.
Age: first half 18th C, late YongZheng/early QianLong, ca. 1730-1740, Qing Dynasty
