a Chinese porcelain mandarin cup and saucer “lady and boy”
An unusual and beautiful set of cup and saucer, with a central decoration of a mother and her playing son in a landscape garden, with tree, flowers, rock and bamboo before a fence. The bamboo and tree are nicely painted in the “en grisaille” pencil style. An unusual combination of “on the glaze” black and famille rose colors, used in depicting this nice scene. Strong colors and hardly no wear!
Size: Saucer; 11.5 cm in diameter and 2 cm in height. Cup, 7,5 cm diameter and 4 cm in height.
Condition: Excellent, saucer only has a spot of minor color imperfection at backside. No chips, hairline or any restorations.
Age: Ca. 1770, QianLong period, Qing Dynasty.
