a Set of Chinese porcelain blue and white cup and saucer, Jia Qing, ca 1800
Extremely fine decorated with peony in the garden. The technique which was used is called Soft paste. Soft paste porcelain is a finer and/or more delicate product as an end result, requiring a glaze to seal the finished product. However a benefit to the lower temperature allows the manufacturer or artists to have a greater pallet of colors to choose from for the decoration.
Size: Saucer: 9 cm diameter ; cup: 5 cm diameter.
Condition: Perfect. Both no hairline/chips/frits and no restorations.
Age: Late 18th/early 19th century, JiaQing period, Qing Dynasty.
